A Wedding

Bagpipe. Kilts. A gorgeous beaming bride.Last night's wedding was the kind that gives you goosebumps. As Kim,her daughter Erica and I snuck out of the banquet room
after setting up our contribution to the evening,,we played the game "O.K., we haven't seen the desserts before-open the door and see them for the first time".  The table was awash with 100 dessert plates-each one with its own chocolate mousse with scotch whiskey macerated prunes, frangipane tart with raspberries and almond croquante, lavender bergamot tea shortbread and candied rose petal. The bride and groom had ordered a toffee cheesecake for themselves and it stood, just 6 inches and high on a pedestal, in between the vases filled with candied cat mint with candied butterfly images alight here and there. I had made almond brittle in heart shapes and attached them with toffee all over the cake. The three of us were satisfied .And so so relieved the ice sculpture guys who perilously placed it behind the dessert table after we had filled it[!] hadn't crushed Kim's tiny frame as she threw herself selflessly between the wobbling ice and our sweets.
