In Irkutsk now is snowing. It's the first snow this season. And I've made photo from my window just now: http://natalieowl.blogspot.com/2010/11/first-snow-in-irkutsk-view-form-my.html (it's now very good photo, but it's night and I have non-professional camera) It's 0:33 a.m in Irkutsk.
Here in the southern uk, no snow yet, plenty of frosts and gale force winds! Bitter"leafs still hanging on trees! wonderful colours! seasons all mixed up.
Natalia- I felt like I had a little window into a whole other world looking at your photo! I loved it-- this connection with all of you is so precious.
Nana, you also open the window into new world for me. You are beautiful, talented and artistic person... and I have a possibility to speak with you, and see your very nice photo-works. I've never think before, that it'll be possible :)
You're right Natalia. Nana is a extraordinary person. I met her in Prague and I never met before somebody so kind and so friendly like Nana was! I'm really sorry my English isn't so good to write all I want. Also I am so happy I can be always in contact with her thanks this blog.
What an amazing photograph Nana. Holy molly are those icicles? Its starting to become Winter here. It rains and rains here..mix it with lots of extreme cold+ it gets dark at 4 p.m.--is horrible. Our high tomorrow is 38 degrees. I'm glad to hear that you guys have gotten the chance to meet Nana..I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be able to attend/meet her at the upcoming Star Trek Las Vegas con :)
My mother grew up in Paris, one of 11 children, and had memories of bomb shelters and only flour and water to eat, as well as raucous family meals.[What else could they have been with 11 children?]When she landed in America as a young girl, she paid her way by assisting the dietitian with all the meals at her Ann Arbor, Michigan school. So family tradition, hunger and a decidedly forward thinking school cook all led to food and dinner time being somewhat of an obsession. My mother would always prepare a 2 and sometimes 3 course meal for us.Working beside Mama in the kitchen was a cloth woven with long periods of comfortable silences, confessions, laughing and the intricate ballet required when you have more than one person in a New York City apartment kitchen. What I write here has so much to do with this woman who would literally swoon eating a marron glace. Appreciation, gratitude and wonder. She had those and I hope to share some with you.
So nice :)

Here in Hof, we had the first snow one or two weeks ago. As I said, it's the coldest city in Germany(shiver!).
